MURA Formation Documents

In the last few years the Town of Mead has taken large steps to increase economic development in the area.  Most recently, the Town of Mead Board has approved a new Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and assigned a board of commissioners to work on this vital component of economic development.

Many times the development (or redevelopment) of areas can be very expensive and hard to accomplish, often requiring partnerships between local governments and the private sector. Currently it has been far easier and less expensive for a developer to build on undeveloped land at the fringe of a town and contribute to urban sprawl than to tackle the issues surrounding infill sites.  By creating a URA, the Town of Mead can assist the private sector in revitalizing areas of the community.

Below are the documents creating the MURA.
