Downtown Revitalization Facade Grant Program

The Town of Mead is offering a Downtown Revitalization Facade Grant to business owners and residents in the Downtown Mead Area.  To be eligible for a grant the applying business or resident must be located on Main Street or 3rd Street between Palmer Street and Welker Avenue.  The Town will make available up to $5,000.00 to make improvements to the front of the building or to install landscaping, sidewalk improvements and street furniture (benches, trash containers and flower pots) in the public right-of-way.  The applicant must match the grant funds on a dollar for dollar basis. 

A Grant Application is required.  The application must include information on the individual or business including location, and detailed information regarding the proposed improvements, the positive impacts of the improvements on the appearance of the downtown area, estimated cost of improvements (3 bids may be required depending upon the scope of the proposed project), source of matching funds, and a timeline indicating the planned completion of the project.  Depending upon the type and scope of the project additional information may be requested.

Applications are to be submitted to the Town of Mead and applications will be reviewed by staff which will make recommendations to the Town of Mead Board of Trustees on whether or not to fund the project. The decision of the Board of Trustees will be final.

The Town reserves the right to discontinue or suspend the program at any time.
