Permit Types
One-Stop Permits:
Most one-stop permits are available as over-the-counter permits and require a building permit application. One-stop permits include the following, but is not intended to be a complete list:
- Water Heater
- Furnace Installation
- Air Conditioning System
- Re-roof
- Siding/Stucco
- Gas Fireplace
- Window Replacement (Like for Like)
- Water/Sewer Line Repair/Replacement
- Lawn Sprinkler
Gas Line/Plumbing Permits
A Building permit, one-line plan and Gas Line/Plumbing Form is required when making changes to, or installing, new gas lines for various projects such as furnaces, gas ranges, tankless water heaters, fireplaces, and outdoor grills. Plan review is necessary for all service installations.
Fence Permits
A building permit, is required for any persons, authorized agent or business wishing to construct, alter or move any fence that is over six (6) feet in height. A permit must be obtained before any construction begins.
A fence permit is not required for any fence six (6) feet or less in height. Fences must be no more than forty-eight (48) inches high (four (4) feet), if located on a side yard line in the front yard, except if required for demonstrated unique security purposes. Fences and walls shall not be solid, except for retaining walls. Necessary maintenance, such as staining, and/or replacing pickets or hardware, do not require a fence permit as long as the type, height and location of the fence is not changed in any manner.
Sign Permit Application
A Sign Permit Application must be completed by any persons, authorized agent or business wishing to erect, install or place any banner or sign in the Town of Mead per the Town Code 16.7.40 - Sign Permits. For more information, please refer to the Sign Code.
