Mead Police investigate incident at school bus stop

February 11, 2022- Early this morning, on Friday, February 11, Mead Police received a report of a male subject allegedly in possession of a BB gun at a school bus stop near Howlett Place and Hughes Street. The bus was already on its way to the school when the incident was reported.

Police Officers were at the Mead Middle School when the bus arrived, and in coordination with school staff, verified no one matching the description of the male was on the bus, nor did anybody on the bus have further information or concerns. Officers then followed up with Mead High School, where administrators had met with student bus riders from the reported location. No supplementary witnesses were discovered, and no weapon was located.

Additionally, Mead Police conducted a thorough neighborhood canvas near the bus stop. No further information was provided from witness statements or video. After investigating this incident, the Mead Police Department assures there are no verified threats to the community.
